Here are some of the things I’ve been up to in March:
- Started working as a junior developer. I get to spend all day learning how to build websites. I’ve learned more in the last three weeks of getting my hands on real projects than I did in months of studying in school. I figure things out as I go and learn as fast as I can. It’s hard and awesome.
- Blogging each day. As part of Praxis month 2 curriculum, I’m writing and publishing a new blog each day. Getting into the habit of just shipping something each day is incredible. You should try it.
- Quitting things that don’t matter. I realized after reading a combination of books (Don’t Do Stuff You Hate, The War Of Art, and Essentialism) that I was holding myself back by continuing to do things that no longer aligned with who I am now. So I’ve quit most of those things. I quit keeping up with some old friends. I ended my modeling contracts so I could spend my extra time building the skills I want to master. I’m trying to quit everything that isn’t important to me anymore, so I can create time to focus on what is.
- Taking care of myself. I’ve been meditating almost every day using Headspace. It helps me focus and helps me stay present. I drink smoothies every day using my Green Blender subscription. When I first started having GreenBlender smoothies, I thought they tasted like what I imagine a swamp tastes like. However, as time went on I began to love the taste and crave these smoothies. I also celebrated my one year anniversary as a member of the Daily Method. Spending an hour every other day working out with other women always makes my week feel incredible. I’ve noticed that when I actively stick with doing all of these things, I feel happier and healthier.
