Write down 3 coincides that happened to you. Good things that just happened by accident.
This is a short exercise I did when I attended a Tony Robbins event called Unleash The Power Within. Robbins talks about the belief that life is happening for us and not against us.
I’ve written down coincides a couple of times a week ever since then. Here’s 3 coincides that I thought of this week:
- I was at a meetup recently and I ran into a friend that I haven’t seen in several years. We were both in the same city (that we were both just visiting) and we happened to be at the same event.
- My family moved into a house when I was 4 and it was across the street from another family. That family had a daughter who was also 4 years old. Her name was Claire. I can’t even remember when we met, but from my earlier memories until now we’ve been close friends.
- When I was 19, I found out that my boyfriend’s parents lived just a few blocks from my own parents. I started spending all my weekends with him and his family, or with my own. I started spending more time at home and began to see how lucky I was to have such a close and wonderful family. Because of this funny accident of dating someone whose family lived near my own, I formed close friendships with my parents in a way that I maybe wouldn’t have if I hadn’t been around during that time.
